Just this week I experimented with intarsia/slip stitch knitting/whatever. I sat down on Monday night to watch a movie with a friend of mine and had this wicked idea for a purse that I wanted for going out Saturday night. So I dug into my knitting bag and found a ball of Billie Joe and Courtney in Rock from the Vickie Howell Collection .
The stitches are a bit too tight and I'm sure my technique was wrong but I don't care. I was a girl on a mission!
I debated posting this because the first thing Jonelle said when I showed her my prize was "Oh great...spreading the word of hate through yarn!" That isn't at all what it's about! :P before we started the movie I was flipping through my domiKnitrix book and saw the chart for the heart/slash/hate and decided I needed it to be in a purse immediately. The reason I left off the heart/slash part was because my color choices were limited.
Even if this never actually becomes a purse before tomorrow night, I just wanted to say that knitting from a chart and using more than one color isn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I know I need a lot of practice before putting something like this into a sweater (hopefully the whole chart next time).but it was fun and took me less than 1 hour. I also got a kick out of showing the piece to a good friend of mine because he immediately asked me to make him a wristband with a grey skull in it. :P
